Proud and Loud is a new multi-arts showcase centering disability expression through mural-making, dance, music, and performance. Curated by Chicago artist and disability activist Genevieve Ramos, the morning includes a community mural project alongside performances from dancers Ladonna Freidheim, Hana Javed, Robby Lee Williams, and Alexis Smith, musician Victoria Boateng, and performance artists Rachel Singer and Cherlnell Lane. It takes place Saturday, September 19, from 10 AM to noon at Garfield Park. ASL interpretation is provided, and the event is free and open to everyone.
