Walking History: Exploring Chicago Parks at Garfield
Equiticity’s Walking History series returns for a sixth monthly outing, this time at Garfield Park. The Sunday morning walk on July 26, from 9:00 to 11:30 AM, is part of the organization’s 2026 Community Mobility Rituals, designed to build social cohesion in marginalized neighborhoods. The walks are also timed to the United States’ 250th birthday, with each route examining how a Chicago Park District park reflects — and sometimes shaped — the city’s and the nation’s stories. Free and open to the public.
