Weedy Bouquets and Late Summer Plant ID at NPV

The Nature Center's late-summer session is part plant identification lesson, part hands-on stewardship, and ends with a no-shame bouquet of what most people would call weeds. On Sunday, September 13, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, participants help thin out overly competitive native wildflowers—the ones that bloom in that distinct late-summer yellow—while learning to tell lookalike species apart. The conversation covers how the Center decides which plants need culling and which get left alone, and everyone takes home a bundle of their thinnings.
