The Heart of the Story at Douglass

Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre brings its concert program *The Heart of the Story* to Douglass Park on Friday evening, October 9, from 6 to 8 PM. The roughly hour-long performance by the company's professional Dance Ensemble and Jazz Orchestra is framed with context from company members and followed by audience feedback and interactive activities. The choreography explores dualities—confidence and doubt, strength and vulnerability—through a lens of culture, race, and ethnicity. The evening also features a special guest set from the Douglass Park Performing Company, whose twelve members perform "He Turned It," a piece about standing up for societal change, choreographed by Elaine McLaurin. Free and open to the public.
