Japanese Papermaking Workshop

At the International Museum of Surgical Science, artist Mami Takahashi leads a hands-on workshop in traditional Japanese papermaking, known as Washi. The session on Sunday, November 8, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM covers the history and cultural context of the craft before moving into sheet formation using kozo and hemp fibers. Participants can add decorative plant materials and try embossing or watermark-style impressions on their handmade sheets. All materials are included, and no prior experience is needed. Tickets are $45.
