Unheard Voices of Care Dramatic Reading: CIRCA Pintig – Stories of Nurses

Artists from CIRCA Pintig, a regional Filipino theater company with roots in Chicago's immigrant communities, present the second installment of their ongoing project collecting and developing stories from current and retired nurses. On Thursday evening, July 30, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the International Museum of Surgical Science, company members perform selected monologues and short plays drawn from those interviews, followed by discussion. The organization, founded in the early 1980s by newly arrived immigrants from the Philippines, has worked for over three decades to keep the pulse of immigrant cultures alive through performance. Free and open to the public, with doors at 5:45 PM.
