
Japanese Papermaking Workshop
This hands-on workshop at the International Museum of Surgical Science teaches the traditional Japanese art of Washi papermaking, led by artist Mami Takahashi. Participants work with kozo and hemp fibers to form their own sheets, learning the history and differences between Eastern and Western papermaking. Decorative options include natural plant materials and techniques like embossing and watermark impressions. The workshop runs Sunday, September 27, from 12 to 2 PM.
