Intro to Solo Kayaking at Northerly Island

A practical introduction to solo kayaking on the Northerly Island Park Lagoon, where you paddle past prairie and wetland wildlife with the skyline as a backdrop. The program runs Monday, July 27, from 4:00 to 6:30 PM, and covers basic instruction and all equipment — just show up dressed to get wet, with sunscreen and water. Open to anyone 8 and up, though minors need an accompanying adult. Registration covers a single-person kayak; if you want a two-person boat, look for the tandem session instead.
