Curator Tour: The Way of Tea

The International Museum of Surgical Science's new exhibition, *The Way of Tea: Objects, Practice, and Community*, gets a curator-led walkthrough on Saturday, October 3, from 11 AM to noon. Curator and artist Mami Takahashi guides the tour, discussing how utensils, gestures, and hospitality come together in chanoyu (Japanese tea ceremony). The program continues in the Museum Library with an informal matcha experience where each participant prepares an individual portion of matcha and receives a piece of handmade kohakutō. (Note: this is a curatorial introduction and hands-on tasting, not a formal tea ceremony.) Tickets, which include admission, range from $25 to $30.
