On Saturday afternoon, December 12, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, the Art Institute marks the centenary of the Helen Birch Bartlett Memorial Collection with a conversation between two senior curators. Gloria Groom and Caitlin Haskell will discuss how a bequest of 24 paintings—including Seurat's *A Sunday on La Grande Jatte*, van Gogh's *The Bedroom*, and Picasso's *The Old Guitarist*—helped create one of the first museum galleries in the world devoted to modern European painting. The talk takes place in Rubloff Auditorium and is free with museum admission, though registration is required. Closed captioning will be available.
