Community Repair with Bevel & Kerf Woodworking
The Community Repair event brings volunteer woodworkers, electricians, computer repair folks, and sewists to Portage-Cragin on Sunday, December 13, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM for free fix-it help. You can drop off furniture, clothing, electronics, or tools (nothing too heavy, and no pianos or washing machines), hang around the library while it's being looked at, or sit with a volunteer to learn the repair yourself. Items must be submitted by 2:00 PM, and the crew asks that you limit drop-offs to two items so they can serve as many neighbors as possible. If you have a project at home and just need advice, you can swing by to talk it through — though the volunteers are clear they're not a professional repair center, and there's always a minor risk of further damage.
