Community Repair with Bevel & Kerf Woodworking
Community Repair is a free, volunteer-run event where you bring in broken furniture, appliances, clothing, electronics, or other household items and get help fixing them—no charge, no catch. It takes place Sunday, November 29, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Portage-Cragin library. The crew includes folks with experience in woodworking, computer repair, electronics, clothing mending, and more; you can hang around and learn, or drop items off by 2 PM and come back. Limit is two items per person, and they can't take pianos, washing machines, or gas-powered tools. The volunteers are clear about their limits, so treat this as a helpful neighbor rather than a professional shop—and if they can't fix it, they'll point you in the right direction.
