Writing with Our Eyes: A Writing Workshop with Marina Azahua

Writing with Our Eyes is a workshop that treats writing as a way of seeing, using archival and historical photographs as the starting point for creative exercises. Led by Mexico City-based writer, editor, and translator Marina Azahua, the session explores how language gets filtered through visual perception, drawing on her work with archival gestures and the politics of representation. The workshop takes place on Wednesday evening, November 11, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at the Harold Washington Library Center, presented with the Lit & Luz Festival and Special Collections at the Chicago Public Library. No prior writing experience is required, but space is limited and registration is strongly recommended. This program is for adults.
