Artist Talk | Mel Lyons

Mel Lyons — artist, educator, Marine Corps veteran, and founding member of the Microphone Misfitz collective — gives an artist talk at the Harold Washington Library Center on Tuesday, July 21, at 6:00 PM. Lyons has taught art, theater, and science in Chicago schools for nearly two decades, led workshops for the National Veterans Art Museum, and hosted a TV show on CAN-TV. His work and travels include a 2018 trip to China, where he shared hip-hop and comics three years after the country banned the genre. Free and open to the public.
