Write a Letter To America
Write a Letter to America is a straightforward civic writing project: sit in the Grand Lobby of the Harold Washington Library Center and compose a personal letter reflecting on Chicago experiences—critiques, hopes, or memories. The letters become part of a permanent city archive commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States, preserved for future researchers. Paper and pens are provided; you supply the ideas. The pop-up runs Wednesday, August 12, from 1 to 3 PM. No registration or fee is listed; accessibility requests require at least 14 business days' notice by phone or email.
