When Studs Terkel Interviewed Me: What I Learned from Being Interviewed by the Pulitzer Prize-Winning Master Conversationalist

Mark Larson, an oral historian who once found himself on the other side of Studs Terkel's tape recorder, shares what it felt like to be interviewed by the Pulitzer Prize-winning master of conversation. Drawing on two personal interviews with Terkel—one for _Race_, another for _Hope Dies Last_—and a behind-the-scenes seat in the WFMT studio, Larson reflects on what he learned about asking questions and truly listening.
