Walking Tour | Lincoln Park’s Lost History

A walking tour that uncovers the layered history beneath Lincoln Park, led by researcher and guide Tony Szabelski. The route traces the park's origins as the Chicago City Cemetery (1843 to the late 1860s), then moves through the stories of the Couch Tomb, the tragic history of the High Bridge, and the site of the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. The tour starts at the Chicago History Museum on Sunday, August 2, at 12:00 PM, runs about 90 minutes, and ends at 2122 N. Clark Street. Tickets are $25, or $22.50 for members, and include free museum admission good for one week. Note that the tour discusses death by suicide in connection with the High Bridge.
