Walking Tour | Hyde Park Murals
A walking tour through Hyde Park that treats the neighborhood's public murals as a living archive of civic expression, led by artist and educator Juarez Hawkins. The tour focuses on the works along the Metra underpasses, including Astrid Fuller's *Spirit of Hyde Park* (1973) and William Walker's *Children of Goodwill* (1977), with discussion of the politics around content, restoration, and reinterpretation. It runs 1.5 to 2 hours on Sunday, September 13, starting at 11:00 AM, meeting at the Pepperland Apartment building at 1509–1517 E. 57th Street (adjacent to the 57th Street Metra stop). The tour is $25, or $22.50 for Chicago History Museum members, and includes free museum admission good for one week. Free admission is not mentioned for non-members.
