The Nuestro Chicago Archives team brings its Siempre Aquí Initiative to Humboldt Park on Saturday, December 5, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, offering free VHS digitization for Latine community members. VHS tapes, once the standard for recording home movies, are degrading quickly, and the equipment to play them is becoming scarce. Archivists inventory up to three tapes per visitor and help select one to digitize at no cost, preserving family memories before they are lost.
