Teen Sewing Hour at the Harold Washington Library Center shifts to a costume focus for October, with extra fabrics and construction materials available alongside the usual sewing resources. Drop in Tuesday afternoon, October 6, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM with your own Halloween project, brainstorm ideas with a librarian, or work on a spooky plushie instead. Everyday mending and projects from home are welcome too. All materials are provided, though participants can bring their own clothing and fabric. Sewing certification—a short class covering machine threading and stitching—is available during the hour for teens 13 to 19 who want to use the machines independently.
