Story Hour for Grown-Ups

Story Hour for Grown-Ups offers a quiet afternoon alternative to the usual book club: a live reading of a short story, speech, or essay, followed by discussion. On Tuesday, October 20, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, the Harold Washington Library Center presents Robert Aickman's "The Hospice," a classic eerie tale about a stranded motorist who checks into a very unusual hotel in the British Midlands—perfect for the Halloween season. The program is intended for adults and older teens. Attend in person at the 7th Floor Authors Room (no registration required) or online via Zoom (registration needed, one per household). Free.
