A lecture on the traditional dress and adornment of the Arabian Peninsula, presented by Alex Aubry, director of the Fashion Resource Center at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. The talk examines how colors, patterns, and materials in the region's garments tell a story of cultural exchange shaped by migration, trade, and colonialism, rather than just serving as static markers of identity. It runs in conjunction with the museum's *Embroidered Traditions from Morocco to Afghanistan* exhibition. The program takes place Thursday, October 15, from 6 to 7 PM at Fullerton Hall, and is free with museum admission, though registration is required. (Note: this date is a rescheduled event; previously registered attendees should have received updated tickets for December 3.)
