Member Preview: Mary Cassatt—After Impressionism (Sat)
Member preview day at the Art Institute for *Mary Cassatt: After Impressionism*, the first exhibition dedicated to the artist at the museum in over 25 years. On Saturday, September 5, from 10 AM to 5 PM, members can see the show before it opens to the public — no registration required, just a membership card to scan into Galleries 182–184. The exhibition marks the centennial of Cassatt’s death and features more than 75 paintings, pastels, prints, and ephemera from the late 1880s through the early 1900s, including material on her lost mural for the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition. It shifts the focus from Cassatt the Impressionist to the bolder, experimental work she pursued in her prime.
