Medicare 101

Medicare 101 is a straightforward primer for anyone navigating the system, whether you’re approaching 65, have been on Medicare for years but still find the options confusing, or are helping aging parents sort through their coverage. Led by Medicare Teacher Nancy De Lira, the hour-long session covers the differences between Medicare Parts and plans, compares Advantage and Supplement options, explains Part D basics, and touches on how the Inflation Reduction Act affects plans starting in 2023. It takes place Sunday, October 11, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the Richard J. Daley Library in Bridgeport. The timing is practical: the Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 through December 7, so this serves as a useful refresher before decisions need to be made.
