Make Mini Ojos de Dios

During National Hispanic Heritage Month, the Harold Washington Library Center hosts a mini craft session where participants make Ojos de Dios — small God's Eyes, about three inches square, using colorful embroidery thread instead of traditional yarn. The finished pieces work as ornaments or as the base for earrings and pins, and the program touches on the craft's origins with the Indigenous people of Mexico and other countries. The session runs Friday afternoon, October 2, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM. Registration opens soon; accessibility accommodations can be arranged with at least 14 business days' notice.
