Live Reading: “Cold Was the Ground”

American Writers Museum hosts a staged reading of “Cold Was the Ground,” a new play from Painted Pistachio Productions that takes its title from a Blind Willie Johnson song included on the Voyager Golden Record. The play follows a boy who, after trauma, begins murmuring what sounds like gibberish—his father eventually realizes it’s the contents of the Voyager II Golden Record. The Friday, October 16 event includes a full cast reading (80 minutes), followed by a discussion and Q&A with playwright Doug DuBrin, director Eileen Tull, and Adler Planetarium’s Dr. Andrew Johnston.
