Lecture: Dressing at the Crossroads of the Arabian Peninsula
A visually immersive talk at Fullerton Hall examines how traditional garments from Southwest Asia and North Africa function as markers of identity while also revealing histories of migration, trade, and colonialism. Alex Aubry, director of the Fashion Resource Center at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, leads the discussion, drawing from his curatorial work on the Art of Heritage Collection and his research into fashion and the Global South. The Thursday, October 15 program runs from 6:00 to 7:00 PM and is free with museum admission, though registration is required. Closed captioning will be available.
