Gamer's Universe Showdown Series

The Gamer's Universe Showdown Series brings monthly esports tournaments to the Harold Washington Library Center on Saturday, October 24, from 11 AM to 4 PM, as part of the lead-up to the 2026 Gamer's Universe convention. The Chicago Teen Gamer's Guild runs the day, with a Mario Kart World tournament at noon, Street Fighter 6 at 2 PM, and Splatoon 3 matches hosted by SquidWest running throughout the day (arrive early to secure a competition spot). Players just need to bring their Switch, game copy, headset, and controller; free-play stations with competitive and casual games are also available. No registration required, all ages and skill levels welcome.
