Gallery Conversation: Sara VanDerBeek on Lee Miller

Artist Sara VanDerBeek leads an in-gallery conversation about her recently acquired work *Blood of the Poet*, tying it to the special exhibition *Lee Miller: Fearless* and her broader practice. The hour-long program on Thursday evening, November 5, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM in Galleries 1–4, includes a walkthrough of the Lee Miller show afterward. VanDerBeek, a New York-based artist with a lengthy exhibition history at major museums, offers useful context for anyone curious about how contemporary photography and sculpture converse with historical figures. Free with museum admission; no registration required. The galleries sit on the lower level beneath the Grand Staircase, accessible by stairs or elevator from the Michigan Avenue entrance.
