
Film Screening: Summer of Soul (2021)
The Harold Washington Library screens *Summer of Soul*, Questlove’s 2021 documentary that resurrects footage from the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival—a six-week concert series that ran parallel to Woodstock and featured Nina Simone, B.B. King, Sly and the Family Stone, Stevie Wonder, and Gladys Knight & the Pips. The screening runs Thursday, August 20, from noon to 2 PM. The library provides audio descriptions for patrons with visual disabilities and English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. Free and open to the public.
