Film Screening & Panel Discussion: Bluff City Chinese (2024)

A documentary screening followed by a conversation with the filmmaker. *Bluff City Chinese*, an award-winning film from director Thandi Cai, traces how two generations of storytellers worked to uncover the largely untold history of Chinese American immigrants in Memphis. The screening takes place Saturday, September 5, from 2:30 to 4:00 PM in Chinatown, with a panel discussion afterward featuring the director and members of the Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community. The film runs in English with Chinese subtitles. Registration is encouraged but not required.
