Film Screening: 17th edition of MOSTRA: Brazilian Film Festival

The 17th edition of MOSTRA: Brazilian Film Festival presents four short films at the Harold Washington Library Center on Thursday, November 19, from 5:00 to 7:30 PM. The program ranges from a satirical comedy about machismo to a magical realist story about a woman who gives birth to flowers, a rural tale of a chicken named Chica, and a layered narrative about a mother, her son, and a grandfather who was a pilot. A discussion follows the screenings, and English subtitles are provided. This is a solid, low-key evening for anyone curious about contemporary Brazilian cinema with social bite.
