Families Together: Mixed Media
An open-studio art program for kids 6 to 13 at the Chinatown library, designed in partnership with the Art Institute of Chicago. Participants create an artwork inspired by family togetherness scenes from artists like Romare Bearden, Mary Cassatt, and Suzuki Harunobu, and fold origami cranes to contribute toward a goal of 1,000 displayed in the library. All materials are provided; this is a self-guided session that runs Wednesday, November 18, from 4 to 5 PM.
