Fall Tree Identification and Guided Walking Tour
Leslie, a certified arborist and Forestry Coordinator at Openlands, leads an introductory tree identification class that starts inside the Harold Washington Library Center and continues as a guided walking tour through Grant Park. The Thursday, October 8 session runs from 11 AM to 1 PM and focuses on observing seasonal changes and learning to identify trees by their leaves, twigs, bark, and other characteristics. It’s a practical, hands-on way to get better at spotting Chicago’s urban canopy while the fall color is still turning. Registration is required by 11 AM Wednesday, October 7.
