EveryLibrary Presents: Author Alexander McCall Smith

Alexander McCall Smith, creator of the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series, visits the Harold Washington Library Center on Thursday, September 17, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM for a conversation about his latest book, *The Big Cats Dance Party: No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency (27)*. The talk, co-presented by EveryLibrary and the Chicago Public Library, centers on the new installment, in which Mma Ramotswe and Mma Makutsi head north to investigate an elephant sanctuary while back home, assistant detective Charlie handles a complicated case. Doors to the Winter Garden open at 5 PM with first-come, first-served seating; overflow and a live simulcast are available in the South Hall. Books will be on sale, with the author signing up to three copies per person as time allows, and the event also streams live on CPL's YouTube and Facebook pages.
