Cuatro Mujeres: Nina Simone’s Four Women at South Shore
Old Town School of Folk Music’s Community Ventures department presents the third installment of its four-part NOITP summer series, which uses Nina Simone’s “Four Women” as a springboard. This 60-minute performance places Simone’s character Sweet Thing in dialogue with Oya, a feminine Orisha from the Afro-Cuban Lucumí tradition, featuring musicians Damon Locks and Isaiah Collier with choreography by Keyierra Collins. It happens Thursday, September 3, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at the South Shore Cultural Center Fieldhouse. Free and open to the public.
