Chicago Home Movie Day 2026

Chicago Home Movie Day brings your family's Super 8, 16mm, and 8mm films out of the closet and onto a real screen. The Chicago History Museum hosts this annual event on Saturday, November 7, starting at 5:00 PM, where archivists inspect, project, and discuss whatever reels you bring. It's a rare chance to see everyday history — birthday parties, vacations, long-gone street corners — projected in a theater with a friendly audience. No need to be a film expert; curiosity is the only requirement.
