Brown Bag Lecture with Dr. Aurore Motte, Université de Liège
The Brown Bag Lecture series brings a lunchtime talk by Dr. Aurore Motte, a postdoctoral researcher from the University of Liège, to the Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures on Tuesday, November 17, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Her talk, "The Making of Texts in Ancient Egypt," examines what a manuscript reveals before you even read it—things like writing medium, inks, layout, corrections, and marginalia that point to the scribes and techniques behind ancient Egyptian texts. It covers Books of the Dead, scientific works, literary pieces, and accounting records. Free and open to the public.
