Behind Us We Are You: An Artist Talk with Atlan Arceo-Witzl

Atlan Arceo-Witzl, a biracial Mexican-American printmaker and educator whose work blends satirical cartoon styles with Mesoamerican and Mexican folk art, gives an artist talk at the Archer Heights Branch Library on Monday, October 5, from 6 to 7 PM. His pieces, which appear in galleries, zines, and on Chicago streets, explore Midwestern identity as a hybrid of ancient and contemporary life, drawing from everyday rituals, political movements, and hand-painted signs. A showcase of his work remains on display at the branch through the end of October. Free and open to the public.
