Beginning Birding with Chicago Bird Alliance

A free, family-friendly birding walk at South Shore Nature Sanctuary, led by Chicago Bird Alliance volunteers. Binoculars and field guides are provided, so newcomers can show up without any gear. The walk happens Friday morning, October 9, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, and is open to all ages. The route includes pavement, boardwalk, and crushed gravel surfaces; if weather turns, the group moves inside the South Shore Branch library for birding discussion and hands-on activities instead. Metered parking is available on site.
