Art in the Library: Families Together

The Artist's Studio series at the Garfield Ridge library brings back its collaboration with the Art Institute of Chicago, offering a free drop-in workshop where families can make mixed-media art together. On Saturday, September 12, from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM, kids age 3 to 13 draw inspiration from Mary Cassatt, Margaret Burroughs, Romare Bearden, Suzuki Harunobu, and Jacob Lawrence, then create their own pieces on watercolor paper with markers, colored pencils, paint, and patterned paper. Completed artwork goes on display in the library. Supplies are at a designated table on the children's side; no registration required.
