Ancient Egyptian Religion, Science, and Magic

The Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures offers a six-week online course on Egyptian religion, science, and magic, taught by Egyptologist and software engineer Kea Johnston. The class meets Thursday evenings from August 20 to September 24, 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Zoom (recorded for later viewing). Course content explores how ancient Egyptians saw the cosmos—integrating what we now call science, magic, and religion into a single worldview—and how that worldview still resonates today. Registration is $295 for the general public, with reduced rates for ISAC members, UChicago affiliates, and others.
