AI for Visual Disabilities
The Chicago Public Library's Assistive Resources and Talking Book Center offers a workshop on Thursday, November 19, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the Harold Washington Library Center, designed specifically for individuals experiencing visual disabilities. The session provides a beginner-friendly introduction to how AI can support daily tasks like reading text, recognizing surroundings, and composing messages, along with broader uses in healthcare and education. Attendees will explore practical tools in a relaxed, peer-supported setting and leave with a clearer sense of how to talk about AI with others. Accessibility accommodations are available with at least 14 business days' notice by calling (312) 747-8184 or emailing access@chipublib.org.
