Read to a Therapy Dog

On Monday afternoon, October 19, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM, kids ages 3 to 13 can practice reading aloud to Ellie, a certified therapy dog, at Rogers Park. The setup is low-pressure by design—dogs don't correct mistakes, and the session is meant to build confidence in reluctant readers. Sign-up sheets for 10-minute slots are available at the information desk; drop-ins are welcome but not guaranteed a spot. A selection of books will be on hand, or kids can bring their own. Ellie's handler stays present throughout.
