Book Buddies
Book Buddies pairs kids who are learning to read — typically ages 5 to 8 — with high school volunteers for one-on-one reading practice and family-friendly literacy games. The session runs Thursday, November 12, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM at the Bucktown-Wicker Park branch, and a caregiver must stay with each child. Part of Chicago Public Library's Jump Into Reading initiative, the program is free and requires no registration, though accessibility requests need to be made 14 business days in advance.
