Zoning and Land Use 101 with MPC

A free two-hour workshop at Legler Regional on Tuesday evening, October 6, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, designed to demystify how zoning and land use actually shape Chicago neighborhoods. Organized by the Metropolitan Planning Council, the session covers the basics of what zoning is, its history, and how to navigate changes—plus a hands-on segment where participants design their own community and create a zoning map. It’s aimed at older teens and adults, and each attendee gets a print copy of MPC’s “In the Zone” zine in English, Spanish, or Chinese.
