Zoning and Land Use 101 with Metropolitan Planning Council

A free, hands-on workshop at Vodak-East Side Branch that demystifies zoning and land use for everyday Chicagoans. Led by the Metropolitan Planning Council, the two-hour session covers what zoning actually is, how it shapes your neighborhood, and the history behind it — plus a chance to design your own dream community and create a zoning map. It's a solid primer for older teens and adults who want to understand how to weigh in when land use decisions come before the city. No RSVP is needed, and each participant gets a print copy of MPC's "In the Zone" zine in English, Spanish, or Chinese.
