Zoning and Land Use 101
A hands-on workshop from the Metropolitan Planning Council that turns the dense subject of zoning into something you can actually work with. Over two hours on Wednesday evening, September 9, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the Bucktown-Wicker Park branch, participants learn what zoning is, how it shapes neighborhoods, and how to navigate changes—then practice by designing a dream community and creating a zoning map. Developed for older teens and adults, the session includes a print copy of MPC’s “In the Zone” zine in English, Spanish, or Chinese. No RSVP is needed; requests for sign language interpretation or other accessibility accommodations must be made at least 14 business days in advance.
