Youth Poetry Workshop

A weekly poetry workshop for kids ages 7 to 9 meets Thursday, November 12, from 4:30 to 5:30 PM at the West Town branch. Each session opens with a shared reading and a quick lesson in poetic terms, then moves into writing time—no prior experience needed. Led by Maya Tsingos, a local poet and medical student whose Schweitzer Fellowship has her teaching poetry to youth across Chicago this year. Registration is required by the start of the event, and a parent or guardian's email address must be used since the library cannot collect personal information from children online.
