Youth Poetry Workshop
A workshop for kids 10 to 13 who want to try writing poetry without the pressure. Led by Maya Tsingos, a local poet and medical student who is spending the year teaching poetry to youth across Chicago as a Schweitzer Fellow, the session at West Town on Thursday, October 29, from 4:30 to 5:30 PM involves reading a poem together, learning a few terms, and writing your own. The tone is low-stakes and welcoming—come to listen, share, or just experiment. Registration is required by October 22; a parent or guardian’s email must be used since the library cannot collect personal information from kids under 13.
